Illumination-invariant Robust Multiview 3D Human Motion Capture
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this work we address the problem of capturing human body motion under changing lighting conditions in a multiview setup. In order to account for changing lighting conditions we propose to use an intermediate image representation that is invariant to the scene lighting. In our approach this is achieved by solving time-varying segmentation problems that use frameand view-dependent appearance costs that are able to adjust to the present conditions. Moreover, we use an adaptive combination of our lighting-invariant segmentation with CNN-based joint detectors in order to increase the robustness to segmentation errors. In our experimental validation we demonstrate that our method is able to handle difficult conditions better than existing works.

In this paper a new stereo-based 3D head tracking technique, based on scale-invariant feature transform (SIFT) features is proposed. A 3D head tracker is very important preprocessing for many vision applications. The proposed method is robust to out of plane rotations and translations and also invariant to sudden changes in time varying illumination. We present experiments to test the accuracy ...
متن کاملStructure from Periodic Motion
We show how to exploit temporal periodicity of moving objects to perform 3D reconstruction. The collection of period-separated frames serve as a surrogate for multiple rigid views of a particular pose of the moving target, thus allowing the use of standard techniques of multiview geometry. We motivate our approach using human motion capture data, for which the true 3D positions of the markers a...

This paper investigates the estimation of 3D head poses with a partial ellipsoid model. To cope with large out-of-plane rotations and translation in depth, we extend conventional head tracking with a single camera to a stereo-based framework. To achieve more robust motion estimation (even under time-varying lighting conditions), we incorporate illumination correction into the aforementioned fra...

An interframe coding method for multiview image sequences using 3-D models is presented. The 3-D motion is estimated using an optical ow formulation which also takes into consideration the photometric e ects of rotation, using a specular illumination re ection model. More speci cally, the Phong specular re ection model is used, resulting to a luminance model which depends on the surface normal ...
متن کاملBlock-based Illumination Compensation and Search Techniques for Multiview Video Coding
We consider block-based interview coding techniques for multiview video sequences that are robust to illumination variations across views. We consider both global illumination differences which could be due to lack of camera calibration or heterogeneity, as well as local ilumination changes caused by lack of camera aligment. We propose a two-parameter model for illumination compensation (IC) th...
